  2. This wasn’t part of the prophesy!

Have you lost your passion? Or has the latest pettiness of the world caused you to question the meaning of life? The big Cooties scare of (I think it was around) 1963 was the first time I saw everyone around me seem to go crazy, but as you guessed, they eventually regained their senses, and since then goodness and beauty and even logic have had their times of ebb and flow (not unlike a pendulum). During the strong ebb times, all you can do is get a good grip on all that is worthwhile and stable so you don’t get washed out to sea. But you will make it. The hard times can provide some good writing material, though (for later perhaps). That ’63 scare is the first opportunity for me to question conventional wisdom – something I’ve since made a mission. Making it rhyme can be a challenge; maybe you are setting the bar too high.

I wish I knew how to help you. I could offer subject suggestions, but my topics can seem boring to most. My problem right now is not so much a lack of ideas, but a lack of time to develop them. So many distractions get in the way. I’m forced to use the “bounce” technique for juggling obligations, although “bounce juggling” is just a euphemism; I work really hard on a project for as much time as I can spare to effectively throw it as high as I can before moving on to the next project, but by the time I get back to it, it has long since stopped bouncing. For what it’s worth, the article I promised you about teamwork vs. rugged individualism may be my third-next writing project.

By now, this may seem like babbling, but actually I’m stalling to give you enough time to reignite the flame (I might have guessed that “passion” was your passion.) Making a fool of myself may be my second-strongest talent, but this time it’s for a good cause. I did read that prophesy of greatness, and I just knew it was about you.
